Purple Fields

I caught sight of it while travelling through the Bathurst area in New South Wales. A whole hillside, slopes and paddocks of vibrant purple. Stunning.

It turned out to be a notorious weed called Paterson's Curse, said to have escaped in the 1880s from the gardens of a family called Paterson.

The original has sold.
